Atlanta is home to dozens and dozens of Chinese restaurants, with nearly as many styles of the cuisine. That’s why we wanted to know which is your favorite.

About a thousand readers responded to our poll, but there was a clear winner. Spots two through four were a bit closer, however.
No. 4 in our 2020 poll was Bao Bun Cafe on Howell Mill. Bao (pronounced "bow") buns, also known as a "steamed buns," are a delicious, warm, fluffy treat of stuffing wrapped inside a sweet, white dough, according to School of Wok.
No. 3 this year was Hai, in Decatur. "Hai Authentic Chinese, in Decatur's redeveloped Suburban Plaza, is in its way the best of both worlds, a place that will suit connoisseurs of traditional Chinese as well as the sesame chicken and orange chicken crowd. (No offense intended; I play on both teams)," AJC food critic Wendell Brock wrote in August.
No. 2 was La Mei Zi on Buford Highway in Doraville. "I'd heard that La Mei Zi's weekend buffet was worth seeking out, and it did not disappoint. Go early, and for $13.95, you can have your fill of soups, noodles, stir-fries, vegetables, tofu, chicken wings (and feet!), cold fruit and tea snacks," Brock wrote just last month.
Our winner for 2020 was also our winner for 2019. And 2018. At Masterpiece on Buford Highway in Duluth: "The menu is long, but it's unlikely you'll make a bad choice at Masterpiece, even if you stick with the basics. Sichuan classics like dry-fried eggplant and mapo tofu here surpass your wildest expectations, serving as a case study for the flavor that can be achieved by a master chef," the AJC's Henri Hollis wrote in October.
