History: Literacy Action, Inc., got its start in an Atlanta church basement in 1969. It’s now the foremost adult basic education nonprofit in the Southeast.

Due to the pandemic, lessons shifted online opening opportunities for more adults.

Its motto: Build better futures by empowering individuals with literacy, life, and work skills to break the inter-generational cycle of low literacy and poverty.
