Atlanta students will get a chance to question mayoral candidates during a forum on Monday.

The event hosted by Atlanta Public Schools will start at 6 p.m. at the district’s downtown headquarters. It can be watched live on the APS Facebook page.

Candidates invited to participate include the five leading contenders for Atlanta mayor on Nov. 2. They are: City councilmembers Antonio Brown and Andre Dickens, attorney Sharon Gay, Council President Felicia Moore and former mayor Kasim Reed.

School board Chairman Jason Esteves said the event is an opportunity for APS students to get involved in local elections. He said students will “ask important questions about the future of the city of Atlanta” and impacts on their education.
