Kordell Stewart is back!

We've known this since the trailer came out before the season even debuted. Porsha Williams' ex husband is business partners with Peter Thomas, Cynthia Bailey's husband, in his new venture Sports One, which opened last summer in Charlotte.

Thomas holds an opening party. Cynthia brings Claudia Jordan and Kenya Moore along. Phaedra ditches, saying she had a dentist appointment. Porsha skips. So does NeNe Leakes and Demetria McKinney. Kandi Burruss is busy as well.

Claudia actually knew Kordell long before this show. And Kenya wants to play matchmaker, knowing how the two of them coupling up would annoy Porsha.

"Is there a date for you two in the future? Kenya teases.

"If I ask her, I hope she says yes," Kordell says.

Claudia is friendly but tries not to be too friendly: "I work with his ex!" (She and Porsha both work for Rickey Smiley.)But she says she and Porshar aren't really friends. "I could if I wanted to," she says. "I just don't prefer it."

In an interview I did with Claudia a few weeks back, she gave this defense for taking a selfie with him: "I've known Kordell longer than Porsha," she said. "He's a single man. I can take selfies!"

On the show, she notes: "Kordell has always been the same nice classy guy."

They exchange numbers. "Don't call me at 1 in the morning," Claudia says, teasingly.

"I am single by the way," Kordell adds.

Claudia tries to downplay the meeting: "It was just drinks and catching up."

My sense is it probably just is. But it makes for good TV.

Next week, the trailer shows Porsha and Claudia arguing: "Don't talk to me behind my back," Porsha says.

In other storylines:

Burning the contract: After the Puerto Rico trip, Cynthia realizes NeNe is not at all serious about rebuilding a friendship. So she finds the original jokey "friendship contact" they signed back in season 3 and burned it.

"My girl is crystal clear she doesn't want to be friends," Cynthia says. "Friendship contract is dead! It's over... Burn, baby, burn!"

Can the boys swim? Kandi is trying to have a baby with Todd Tucker, preferably a boy. No luck so they go to (synergy alert!) "Married To Medicine" gynecologist Dr. Jackie. He does a sperm sample. Dr. Jackie tells them to eat healthier and cut back alcohol. They tell their daughters Kaela and Riley the potential news. They have mixed feelings. The parents also encourage them to get closer as stepsisters.

Bittersweet: This is probably the last time we'll see Apollo Nida with his two sons before he has to go to prison for eight years. The scene is very sad. "I'll be home and hopefully you'll come see me," he says wistfully to his sons to camera. Next week, we see Phaedra Parks saying that Apollo is acting erratic and threatening to burn the house down.

Next week: We'll soon see the problems Kandi and Todd are having with an incompetent promoter handling their national tour of "A Mother's Love."

Ratings: Last week's episode drew 3.19 million viewers, about average for the season and down 1 million viewers from the comparable episode a year ago.
