"The Bachelor" is all about romance and love and connection and an amazing journey that may end up with a dude "on bended knee." Yada yada yada. There's more of that on a special Sunday night event - and the 1990s dudes who sang "I'll Make Love To You."
And here's to two more hours of this nonsense Monday night, too!
Here he is again: Nick V, a good-looking Chicago dullard who received Andi's first-impression rose episode one, gets more one-on-one time with Andi. They bike ride in Santa Barbara and hang out. A couple of the other guys are skeptical of his intentions. "Any practical person would be skeptical of this," he admitted to Andi.
"It's all a risk," she said, "being vulnerable." She later said she thought the skepticism is 'cute." Later, he said "I have a crush on Andi. There's something there."
Why is he still single at age 33? He had a long-term relationship previously but wasn't ready. He's a bit of a bore but she seems engaged with his blah-blah-blah. He gets a rose.
I do give Nick (or the producers?) credit for having a flower delivery sent to Andi while she was seen later talking to Eric, the explorer, who got thrown off. That had to have been the producers, in retrospect. This leads to Nick getting some extra kissing time with her.
Boyz or Men? Twelve of the remaining 16 guys get to go on a group date to sing with Boyz II Men. Most of them are horrible attempting to croon "I'll Make Love To You." So is Andi, for that matter. Bradley, the opera singer, is at least in his element. But Boyz II Men themselves? Not at all impressed.
TMI: "I'm pretty sure I touched my first butt to 'I'll Make Love To You' in seventh grade." - Eric, the late, great "explorer."
Say what? "It's phenomenal. It's an adrelanine [sic] rush." - Marcus, sober but garbling a word about Boyz II Men.
Why Josh Murray is the one: Aaron Murray's bro isn't a great singer but he makes up for it with some sexy stage moves. "I think my singing may have taken a rose away from me," he exclaims. She later called it "stage fright." "You make me nervous,' Josh says. "You're full of it," she responds. "I want to see you every day and kiss you every day," he says. She and he kiss again. He gets a rose at the group date. "It solidified everything we've talked about," he says.
Why Josh may not be the one: No evidence this episode. All signs point to go!
Josh gets into Andrew's business: You can see Josh is taking this competition seriously. He hears about Andrew bragged he had picked up a restaurant hostess' phone number. He and JJ confront him. "It comes off as disrespectful," Josh says to Andrew. "I'm not going to engage in this," says Andrew, who leaves the scene. Andi knows nothing about this and Andrew gets a rose. Andrew later claims he received the phone number, not the other way around. JJ says he's lying about it. Andrew kept a smarmy smile on the whole time. To the cameras, he called them "low lifes."
Happiness is this: "I left today and I couldn't stop smiling. It has been honestly one of the best days of my life and everyone kind of brought it. Everyone has been awesome." - Andi after Boyz II Men.
Jokester is this: Andi pulls a lame prank on Cody, saying she heard he had a girlfriend. He looks aghast. Psych!
Going for it: Earnest Marcus, the Dallas sports medicine manager, is always "in the background," Andi says. So he goes in for the lips and succeeds. "Amazing," he says. "She could be the one."
Those wacky producers: They have Andi and her date JJ (the pantsapreneur) aged with makeup and wigs 50 years. JJ does not come out so well on this one: "I look like a creepy old man." He hunches over like he's a hunchback and hams it up. They goof around and kiss on the swings, then a carousel. She seemed to enjoy it, too. He later talks about his dorkiness. He wants to be accepted but wonders if he'll end up alone. He gets a rose.
End of the road: Ron was an easy one. He left on his own because a sudden death of a close friend. He was an utter non factor so far anyway. Bradley, the opera singer, offered his voice but not much else. Brett was the poor dude who thought swiping a lamp from the hotel and presenting it to Andi would make a great first impression. It didn't.
