680/The Fan has nabbed the local radio rights for Georgia Tech football and men's basketball starting this fall. The Zone has had Tech rights for a few years.

It had been with Cumulus' 106.7 the past year after 12 years with 790/the Zone.

David Dickey, who runs the Fan, noted that they original had partnerships with Tech when the Fan launched in 1993.

The Fan is also the flagship for the Atlanta Braves and Georgia State football and basketball and the official sports-talk partnership with the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Zone still has the Falcons for one more season but it's doubtful the football team will stick around since the Zone has dropped all local programming.

A WGST radio producer proposed to his fiance today on "The Price is Right."

I asked @KimberMcCart #WillYouMarryMe on @PriceIsRight! Thanks @DrewFromTV for your kind words! He is on XM Radio pic.twitter.com/AkbdUIqJnw

Gustavo "Alfred" Romero, who works at 640/WGST-AM,has been a fan of that show since he was an infant. His mom would play the show from the VCR on the TV to calm him down.

To this day, the Stockbridge resident watches obsessively, thanks ot the DVR. He worships both original host Bob Barker and current host Drew Carey. He knows the backgrounds of the models. He knows strategies to win Plinko and the other 100-plus games. He knows which games will be played based on the layouts of any particular show.  He can often price Showcase Showdowns within $100.

His fiance Kimberly McCart goes along with his passion.  On their first anniversary of dating, they flew to Los Angeles to attend a taping of "The Price is Right." He told the producers about the planned proposal and ended up surprising McCart. He didn't compete on the show but did end up doing the proposal during a commercial break. He wore a shirt that said #willyoumarryme. "He said he wanted to do it at the happiest place on earth," McCart said.

McCart said they set a date: October 24, 2015.

With the SEC Network forthcoming, the CSS network is no longer. I wrote about it a couple months back.
