I was going to post something last night but my computer had issues. Fortunately, this morning, a tech guy fixed it so here's my belated recap:
Did VH1 promote this as a season finale? It ended up being so, with many bows tied and one major one untied.
First up, the producers featured one big, happy event: Momma Dee's marriage to Ernest.
The tension points: her daughter Jasmine and son Scrappy weren't happy about this. Jasmine thought Ernest was taking advantage of Momma Dee after he got out of prison. When Momma Dee wanted both Scrappy's ex Erica and his current squeeze Bambi in the bridesmaids party, Scrappy flipped out. So Momma Dee asked Erica to step down, much to Erica's relief.
To add drama, Scrappy shows up late. While much of what happens on this show appears very very scripted, this one is a 10 out of 10 on the contrived scale. Momma Dee almost has Yung Joc escort her down the aisle when (poof!) Scrappy pops in at the last moment without explanation to save the day. Would you have expected anything different?

One sad separation:
Stevie J, post rehab, is seeing a career renaissance. He has a movie in the works and Diddy willing to work with him again. All this is happening in Los Angeles so he needs to move there for the time being.
But he is having issues with Joseline, who was jealous he was working with Tiffany Foxx behind his back (or something like that.) Joseline is so insecure, she can't have Stevie J work with anyone else?
Anyway, her revenge is to work with one of Stevie J's friends. This annoys him to no end.
Instead of working things out like a normal couple, he writes her a goodbye letter and leaves her in Atlanta while he goes to Los Angeles.
Even worse, he asks his baby mama Mimi Faust and their daughter to join him. Will Mimi do so? There is no answer in this episode.
But it shows Karlie "I'll insert myself in anybody else's story line the best I can" Redd feeding this tidbit of juicy gossip to Joseline after Joseline performs at a gay event where she proudly showed her bi-sexual stripes. Joseline gets angry at Karlie for being the bearer of bad news because that's how Joseline deals with things. She hits Karlie with a bouquet Stevie J had given her. Karlie tells her the reason Joseline has no friends is because she goes crazy at the drop of a hat. That is true. We are left with Joseline reading Stevie J's letter and wondering what is going to happen next.
Happy story line endings galore:
Rasheeda opened up her new retail store at Phipps Plaza, courtesy of hubby Kirk Frost, who went from being Scrooge most of the season to Santa Claus. Rasheeda talks all big about wanting to be independent but when he throws stuff at her, she is easily mollified, even if she has no say in what is going on. And given how over budget he was renovating their house and the fact he was renting out a posh Buckhead apartment as a studio, where did he get the money for the rent on a Phipps Plaza space? That appears to go unanswered.
For now, Rasheeda is in such a good place, she couldn't even get upset when Karlie showed up to throw shade at her about messing up her opening party for her store earlier in the season. Yawn.
Kalenna Harper and her hubby Tony Vick are happy again. Kalenna is getting her postpartum depression addressed and is back in the studio recording. Her husband offers to be her manager again. She is relieved. All is good.
And "Miss Piggy" Khadiya reunites with Yung Joc, just because she loves him and thinks his divorce with Sina indicates he really wants her after all. And she doesn't whip out any handcuffs this time.
Scrappy and Bambi (who was barely a factor at all this season) move in together and hope Momma Dee will leave them alone. He even says that on the dais before his mom got married. Good luck with that.
A little bittersweet but surprisingly classy:
Margeaux admits to her ex-hubby Nikko Smith that she's been dating a woman. He is upset at first, especially when he hears she met Merica (yup, that's her name!) while in New York. But he realized he was doing a sex tape with Mimi at the time. What right did he have to be upset? So he supports her and hopes for the best. What? When does Nikko ever do anything classy?
Here's a Dime, call someone who cares:
Last week's cliffhanger involved singer/stripper Jessica Dime dissing her manager Mimi by having Margeaux duet with her at a showcase Mimi set up. The song? "Let's Start a War." And Dime was wearing something so sheer, even VH1 (already very familiar with private part blurring courtesy of "Naked and Dating") had to fuzz out her very ample and probably very fake boobs.
"The look on Mimi's face made it all worthwhile," Jessica said.
Mimi was not in mood to start a war. The "revenge" moment annoyed her but fortunately, Stevie J was there to keep things from getting out of hand.
"That's the stripper mentality," Stevie J said of Dime. "If you want to be an artist, I bet the stripped down the street will take you."
Stevie J warned her not to mess with Dime and he was right. She wasn't worth it.
Presumably, we won't be seeing Dime again. But this is VH1. Who knows what season 5 will bring?
