Centric's redemption series "From the Bottom Up" has been given a second season.

Details of how many episodes and when it will return are still being finalized, said executive producer Nicci Gilbert in a text.

Stacii Jae Johnson, a "From the Bottom Up" cast member and author, announced the renewal news in a release promoting an event she's holding at Salon Pennae Buckhead May 25 from 7 to 10 p.m. to talk about single life in Atlanta.

The show follows five women, all of whom have seen their lives "bottom" out over various controversies and their efforts to get themselves back up. It debuted earlier this year for a six-episode test run.

WE-TV is currently producing the second season of "Cutting it in the ATL" about women in the hair styling and products business. But a comparable series "Selling it in the ATL" featuring women in real estate is still up in the air. Its ratings last year - at 421,000 overnight viewers per episode weren't nearly as strong as that of "Cutting It," which averaged 933,000.
