The minute the new year rolls around, TV is ready to cart out new programming. Lots of it.
HBO on Saturday is airing a documentary about the complicated relationship between Debbie Reynolds and daughter Carrie Fisher that was completed before their recent deaths.
ABC is not only bringing out the 21st season of "The Bachelor" Monday, but giving the world a documentary Thursday looking at the scandalous murder of the parents of the Menendez brothers 27 years ago. NBC is airing the first big movie awards show of the year with The Golden Globes on Sunday and an updated version of "Celebrity Apprentice" Monday with Arnold Schwarzenegger taking over for Donald Trump as host.
And Fox's veteran procedural "Bones" is back on Tuesday for its 12th and final season.
There are new shows, too: Norman Lear teamed up with Netflix for a new version of the 1970s sitcom "One Day at a Time" with a Latino twist Friday while NBC tries to reimagine "The Wizard of Oz" with "Emerald City" the same day.
There is yet another about a person with supernatural powers ("Beyond" on Freeform Monday), a "social experiment" where people date based on blindfolded kisses ("Kiss Bang Love" on fyi Tuesday), Vivica A. Fox starting a men's strip club ("Vivica's Black Magic" on Lifetime Wednesday) and a paranormal team in L.A. ('Ghosts in the Hood" on WE-TV Thursday).

MONDAY
"The 128th Rose Parade" 1 p.m. WSB, NBC — The annual march takes place in Pasadena, Calif.
"The Bachelor" 8 p.m. ABC (21st season debut) — Nick Viall returns and for his sake, Josh Murray is nowhere in sight.
"Masterchef Celebrity Showdown" 8 p.m. Fox — NeNe and Gregg Leakes are one of the couples featured.
"The New Celebrity Apprentice" 8 p.m. NBC — The former host of this show is kind of... busy. Arnold Schwarzeneggar takes the reins.
"Shadowhunters" 8 p.m. Freefrom (second season debut) — The Institute is left in a state of disarray following Jace's departure with Valentine
"2 Broke Girls" 9 p.m. CBS — Max and Caroline stow away and waitress on a riverboat to New Orleans
"Beyond" 9 p.m. Freeform (new series) — A man wakes up after 12 years in a coma to discover he's gained supernatural abilities.
"Teen Mom 2" 9 p.m. MTV (16th season debut) — The show that may have helped reduce teen pregnancy is still around.
"Scorpion" 10 p.m. CBS — The team must freeze Cabe's body in order to save his life after he's seriously wounded by exploding shrapnel while on a mission in the desert.
"Jimmy Kimmel Live special" 10:01 p.m. ABC — Kimmel mocks and embraces "The Bachelor."
TUESDAY
"The Middle" 8 p.m. ABC— The Hecks spend New Year's Day in Orson's escape room, where various secrets are revealed.
"NCIS" 8 p.m. CBS — An undercover mission to apprehend a businessman who uses acts of terror to manipulate the stock market is compromised.
"New Girl" 8 p.m. Fox — Nick tries to low-key it when Reagan moves into the loft.
"Chicago Fire" 9 p.m. NBC — Dawson and Casey meet with Louie's biological father.
"Fresh Off the Boat" 9 p.m. ABC — Jessica reveals shocking details of her past during her U.S. citizenship interview.
"The Have and the Have Nots" 9 p.m. OWN (fourth season debut) — Veronica is taken aback when Katheryn lashes out in anger.
"Bones" 9:01 p.m. Fox (12th season debut) — The team searches for Brennan, who was kidnapped by former intern Zack Addy.

"Undercover Boss" 8 p.m. CBS — Renee Maloney, co-founder and CFO of Painting With a Twist, works undercover at her paint-and-sip franchise.
"The Goldbergs" 8 p.m. ABC — Barry is mortified by Beverly, who, inspired by Mr. Keating from "Dead Poets Society," attempts to inspire his classmates as the substitute chemistry teacher.
"Duck Dynasty" 9 p.m. A&E — Jase enters a fishing tournament and gets help from a legendary angler.
"Criminal Minds" 9 p.m. CBS — Rossi receives a call on his birthday from serial killer nemesis Tommy Yates who tells him the location of his latest victim.
"Law & Order: SVU" 9 p.m. NBC — A masked man rapes a woman, and she believes he's the same criminal who stalked her in the past.
"Little Women Atlanta" 9 p.m. Lifetime (second season debut) — Minnie attempts to put the past behind her by making a shocking confession to Juicy.
"Modern Family" 9 p.m. ABC — Cam tries to make amends for his Thanksgiving disaster by cooking a New Year's Day feast for the family.
"Vikings" 9 p.m. History — Bjorn's fleet launches a surprise attack, while Lagertha's quest for power continues in Kattegat.
"Star" 9:01 p.m. Fox (time slot debut) — A producer's revealing secret threatens the trio's opportunity for a chance to perform at a music festival.
"Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia" 10 p.m. FXX (12th season debut) — The gang turn black after an electric blanket shorts out, so they engage in body switching antics they've seen the movies to change themselves back. This is the longest-running live action comedy around.
"Match Game" 10 p.m. ABC (second season) — Jason Alexander, Cheryl Hines, Ice T, Ellie Kemper, Wayne Brady and Caroline Rhea are the celebrity panelists in the second-season opener.
"Too Close to Home" 10 p.m. TLC (second season debut) — Happy, Ala., is shaken by a catastrophic event.
"Vivica's Black Magic" 10 p.m. Lifetime (new series) — Vivica A. Fox embarks on a new business venture in hopes of opening an exotic-male revue on the Las Vegas Strip.
THURSDAY
"The Big Bang Theory" 8 p.m. CBS — After spending the holidays apart, the gang gets together to hear about Sheldon's and Amy's trip to his mother's, Leonard's and Penny's Christmas tree adventure, and Howard's and Bernadette's first days as parents.
"Hell's Kitchen" 8 p.m. Fox (new time slot) — The chefs pair up for a taste challenge, which is followed by a unique dinner service to celebrate major contributors to the charity Stand Up to Cancer.
"Inside the Actors Studio" 8 p.m. Bravo — Viola Davis, who is in "Fences," is featured.
"Superstar" 8 p.m. NBC — The staffers ring in the new year by holding a "lost-and-found bin cleanout."
"Truth and Lies: The Menendez Brothers" 9 p.m. ABC — The Menendez brothers murder case is the focus of this documentary, which includes an interview with Lyle Menendez from prison more than 27 years after he and his brother Erik were arrested and charged with the brutal slaying of their wealthy parents.
"Chicago Med" 9 p.m. NBC — Two MMA fighters arrive at Chicago Med in poor shape.
"Nashville " 9 p.m. CMT (two-hour fifth season debut) — Shocking news about Juliette creates a wave of emotion throughout Nashville.

"Grimm" 8 p.m. NBC — A shoot-to-kill manhunt is ordered by Capt. Renard.
"Last Man Standing" 8 p.m. ABC — Eve asks for money from her parents and they turn her down.
"MacGyver" 8 p.m. CBS — A mole leaks secret intel about The Phoenix Foundation and MacGyver goes on the hunt with a screwdriver and bug spray.
"Rosewood" 8 p.m. Fox — A hostage crisis at the police department traps Rosewood, Villa and Slade inside.
"Emerald City" 8 p.m. NBC (new series) —A tornado occurs while Dorothy searches for her mother, and the storm transports Dorothy to a mystical land where a powerful ruler has outlawed magic in the series premiere of this combined episode of a dark, modern reimagining of "The Wizard of Oz."
"Hawai Five-O" 9 p.m. CBS — Chin is kidnapped by a cartel in Mexico.
"Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars" 9 p.m. WE-TV (ninth season debut) — This show is scraping bottom trying to dig up couples to take part. One couple features folks who showed up on "Love and Hip Hop Atlanta" for about five seconds.
"Shark Tank" 9 p.m. ABC — Parents create dolls to inspire self-esteem in girls of color, like their own young daughters.
"Sleepy Hollow" 9 p.m. Fox (fourth season debut) — Ichabod and Jenny still reeling from Abbie's tragic death, but Ichabod's new mission in Washington, D.C., brings unlikely alliances in his quest to locate the next Witness.
