Number of working days left until the end of the 2015 session: 8
After a couple of uneventful days, the Senate will get back to business Friday morning. The House, not so much.
The Senate will vote on its rewrites of HB 170, the transportation funding plan, and HB 76, the 2016 state budget. Robust debates are likely on both bills.
The House will take up one bill: SB 51, the Senate version of the "bio-similar" bill the House already passed. It allows for the use of medications that are similar to more expensive biologic drugs (which are made from natural sources).
Chances are good that at least one chamber will wrap up by 12:40 p.m., when the UGA/Michigan State basketball game is scheduled to begin. Fingers crossed.
Next week, lawmakers will be in session five days. Time is running out, so we expect them to be a good bit busier than they’ve been this week.
