The following endorsement in the 2016 presidential contest has arrived from the desk of Ted Turner, the man who remade television and, though the team may have forgotten he existed, rescued the Atlanta Braves from obscurity:

I have had the good fortune of knowing some of the smartest and most powerful people in the world, and Secretary Hillary Clinton is at the top of that list. I've long admired her tenacity and determination to make a positive difference in the world.  From her concerns for our country's healthcare, education and immigration reform to her crusade for equal rights for all, Hillary Clinton has been on the front line fighting for what is right.

One motto I have used over the years for inspiration and self-guidance is, "Either Lead, Follow or Get out of the Way."  Hillary is clearly the finest example of a leader.   First Lady Michelle Obama could not have said it any better: "Hillary Clinton is the most qualified individual to run this country." Electing Hillary Clinton as the 45th President of the United States is the smart thing to do, not only for citizens today, but for generations to come.

In some of my past speeches and interviews, I've said that the world would be better off if it was led solely by women.  From what I've witnessed so far, if elected, Hillary would bolster this claim.

Today, I proudly offer my public endorsement of Hillary Clinton as the next President of the United States.

Mr. Turner has kindly disallowed any further comments on the above statement.
