Kasim Reed on punching back: It’s all about ‘lunch’

January 6, 2015 - Atlanta - Kasim Reed at times appeared to be angry over fallout over the book, and calls he was getting at his home over the holidays. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed announced the termination of embattled Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran today over fallout from his controversial book at a press conference today at City Hall. Cochran's termination follows his month-long suspension, which many in the religious right say is an affront to religious freedom. Immediately following Reed's press conference, Cochran held one of his own, outside the Public Safety Building, where he talked about his faith, having just found out he was fired. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed spent a large chunk of time this afternoon with Rose Scott and Denis O'Hayer, co-hosts of WABE (90.1FM)'s new afternoon issues show, "A Closer Look."

Said Reed:

"My Dad told me that the dictionary definition of a person, place or thing that doesn't respond when it's attacked, when misinformation is spread, is 'lunch.'"
