As Georgia Republicans gather Saturday to pick more than half of the 76 delegates set to attend the Republican National Convention, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz seems to have the advantage in the behind-the-scenes campaign to put his supporters in place.
That's left backers of Donald Trump, who won Georgia's primary but could lose the battle for loyal delegates, in scramble mode. They complain of being blocked by party insiders, send blaring urging allies to pack the weekend meetings across the state and talk of clandestine efforts to sneak his supporters through the votes.

Meanwhile, this email was sent this morning by Mitchell Kaye, a former Republican state lawmaker and Trump supporter running to be a delegate in the 6th District. It gives you a taste of the lobbying campaign raging beneath the surface:
Democrat House Speaker Tom Murphy (the longest reigning House Speaker in the US) literally tried to take a swing at me for asking questions and shedding light on our bloated and pork-filled budget.
I successfully sued Governor Zell Miller and the state to repeal the sales tax on used cars. It resulted in over $30 million being returned to over 150,000 taxpayers statewide. Zell was mad at me...but that changed (see attached).
I mention this because a person is known by their friends...and enemies. I urge you to ask around about me, but I also urge you to call me with any questions you may have that will help you make an informed decision on my candidacy.
I supported Donald Trump when there were 17 fine candidates in this race and continue to do so today and will do so as long as he is a candidate. I also think very highly of Ted Cruz and believe a Trump/Cruz ticket would be enthusiastically embraced by an overwhelming majority of Republicans and would be unbeatable this November.
