Chick-fil-A is set to open its first franchise in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 4.

The Atlanta-based chain restaurant will stand at 3100 14 St. NW in the DCUSA shopping center across the Columbia Heights Metro station's Green Line.

Giancarlo Jimenez, senior manager of real estate at Chick-fil-A Inc., said the 3,500-square-foot store "is a perfect location" for its entry into the D.C. market. The chain is also hoping to open another three to five locations in the District during the next five years.

The city currently has one location in the student center at Catholic University in Brookland, but this will be the first non-college-campus location for D.C.
