A few hours before his Thursday night homecoming concert at Terminal West, CeeLo Green is hanging out in his sleek tour bus parked in front of the venue.
His lovely fiancée, Shani James, hovers quietly in the background, making tea and checking her phone, while inside the building a few yards away, Green's sister, Shedonna, his adorable-beyond-words Yorkie named Zoo (as in Zoolander) and eight kids from four area schools wait for him to dash through the downpour to perform a couple of songs at soundcheck.
The kids are all participants in the Greenhouse Foundation, the non-profit organization founded by Green and his sister four years ago. The performance, as well as the announcement of Green's new mobile game, "Joyride," available as a free download from Google Play and the Apple App Store , are a surprise, as is the news that some proceeds from the game will benefit the foundation.
Fans will not only hear Green's music from his latest album, "Heart Blanche," and hear his voice on the game, but Atlantans will notice plenty of familiar locations as they roll through the streets on the game. "Joyride" is produced by HyperPower Game Group, which is a mobile game startup founded with support from Green's management company, Primary Wave.
