Ever thought about what you could do with $2,500 (other than buy one or two Braves' relief pitchers)? Or an Apple Vacation? Or two tickets to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, or a Kroger gift card, or a Fathead (not John Rocker, the thing you put on a wall).
OK. I think I'm covered with sponsors. (I'm suddenly feeling like Ricky Bobby in the Laughing Clown Malt Liquor Car.)
College football is almost back, and that means Weekend Predictions also is almost back, and that means the annual, "Sack Schultz" contest also is almost back, and that means once again you are being given a chance to defeat the greatest sports prognosticator I've ever met. Me.
"Sack Schultz: 2015" is now . . . OPEN!
If you have previously played, you should be getting an email asking if you again would like to risk humiliation for a chance to beat me and win fabulous prizes. Otherwise, just go to AJC.com/go/sackschultz2015 to register and you're in.
The contest begins with the games of next week (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) so enter now.
Here's how it works: Each week, there will be a slate of 15 games. All you have to do is pick the winners. Don't worry about point spreads. My picks also will be listed there before kickoff should you wish to look at them and then go the other way, which has been known to happen.
There are two contests, one national and one for AJC readers. You automatically will be entered into both. There are weekly prizes and end-of-season grand prizes winners. The contest runs through the final week of the regular season (games of Nov. 28). Did I mention you can't beat me?
Here's the prize breakdown:
• AJC grand prize: Two tickets to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, which will match two top 10 teams.
• AJC weekly prizes: $50 Kroger gift cards.
• Weekly national prize: NCAA Fathead. (Drum roll ...)
• National grand prize: $2,500 Apple Vacation gift card, or $2,500 in cash.
The college football has almost arrived. This is the best way to add to the fun. Good luck. (Not really.)
