I'm afraid that we are about to witness the worst night in the history of American democracy.

Donald Trump knows that he has lost. It's over. His campaign and reputation are a pile of smoking ruin. The Republican establishment has already signaled its abandonment of his cause, and the polls had turned against him even before the most recent revelations. But he is apparently intent on taking everything down with him -- our country, the Republican Party, the democratic process and the American people, in an orgy of ugliness.

Put another way, the man who claims that "my strongest asset, maybe by far, is my temperament," the man who wants to be given control of the nuclear football, is in the process of showing us exactly what he would do with it.  I have a feeling I'm going to need a long hot shower and a cold bourbon by the time this is over.
