From North Charleston, South Carolina -
Hours before the next Republican debate, the pace of the GOP race has clearly started to quicken, as Jeb Bush today released a new ad that slams Donald Trump for making fun of a New York Times reporter who suffers from a chronic disability.
"Just one other thing, I gotta get this off my chest," Bush says to voters in the ad, "Donald Trump is a jerk."

Bush has made several different attempts to get under Trump's skin, but so far it hasn't worked for the former Florida Governor, who will be on the edge of the debate stage in North Charleston, South Carolina.
While George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush both did well here when they ran for President, there are no signs in the Palmetto State of a surge as yet for Jeb.
"Jeb's candidacy has been a mystery to a lot of people. He seemingly was the perfect candidate on paper," said Rep. Mark Sanford (R-SC).
(The original post incorrectly said that Rep. Mark Sanford had endorsed Cruz. That was in error. Sanford has been introducing candidates as they come through his congressional district.)
