The Georgia medical board has suspended a doctor after it said he posted Facebook photos of himself with beer bottles and weapons and the results of his evaluation by a psychiatrist. Robert D. Shuman III's conduct and/or condition "poses an imminent threat to the public health, safety and welfare and imperatively requires emergency action..." according to the board order, issued Aug. 22.

The board previously had issued a private consent order for Shuman to be monitored, after he returned to a residency program following alcoholism treatment. That order was lifted and he was licensed in 2012. He practiced in Wrightsville, according to the medical board's website.
