Teenagers do stupid things as this photo of an East Coweta High School student proves. And then they expand on their foolery by posting it on social media.
I am not sure how any teenager would think donning a Klan hood and Confederate flag and striking a pose in the school parking lot was a good idea. This is the kind of prank that can follow a teen for a long time. ( See this piece to understand implications.)
East Coweta High School posted a letter today on its website addressing this idiocy. The school is not to blame here. This is on the students involved.

The photo came to the high school administration’s attention during the school day. The two students who were involved were identified and an immediate investigation was conducted.
From the school’s investigation, it was determined that no specific threat was made in the incident. The school system is continuing to investigate the matter, and is implementing disciplinary consequences.
The Coweta County School System does not allow behavior that infringes on the safety of its students, staff or volunteers, and does not tolerate behavior intended to bully, harass or intimidate others on our campuses.

Sincerely,
Steve Allen, principal, East Coweta High School
