The Atlanta Braves traded shortstop Edgar Renteria to the Detroit Tigers for two top prospects.

The Atlanta Braves acquired Edgar Renteria from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for infielder Andy Marte in 2005. After announcing his arrival in Atlanta, the shortstop checks out Turner Field with then-Braves assistant General Manager Frank Wren. "Edgar performed in outstanding fashion," Wren, now general manager, said after sending Renteria to Detroit in exchange for two prospects.
