A 13-year-old girl from San Antonio, Texas, feared to be in great danger has been found 164 miles away from her home with a 22-year-old man she met online, authorities said.
An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday saying that Gabriella Sanders was in danger and believed to be with 22-year-old Logan Carter, the Corpus Christi Caller-Times reported.
Police made a break in the case late Friday night, KABB reported. Sanders was found in the parking lot of a business in Nueces County, Texas.
She was with Logan Carter, who was taken into custody on suspicion of harboring a runaway child. He was booked at the Nueces County Jail.
According to Jules Morris, Gabriella's grandfather and a former San Antonio Police Department Sex Crimes Unit detective, the teenager was using a tablet to communicate with Carter. Gabriella's mother discovered the tablet and confronted the teen about it just before she ran away. It was unclear where she got the tablet, KABB reported, and the family believes Carter may have given the tablet to the teen.
Gabriella’s mother said the teen walked out of the family’s front door after the confrontation and didn’t return.
Authorities believe Gabriella and Carter may have met via a gaming app called “Lord’s Mobile.”
Gabriella was returned to her family Friday night.
