This year, the Chatham Board of Elections' four partisan posts will be up for grabs, after a tumultuous 2021 that saw three board members be replaced.
All four incumbents will be seeking their posts again, and all four will face challengers from within their own party.
Democratic Post 1
Malinda Hodge: Incumbent Democratic Board Member Hodge first took her Board of Elections seat in 2014 and has held it since. Hodge is an administrative assistant at Savannah State University.
Corey Foreman: Democrat Corey Foreman, owner of Handyman of Savannah, will be challenging Hodge for her seat this year. Foreman ran for Garden City's District 5 council seat in 2020, and lost. During that race, he offered to pay his opponent Todd Payne's campaign expenses if Payne dropped out of the race.
Democratic Post 2
Alldrein Murray: Democratic incumbent Murray was appointed by the Chatham Democratic Committee to replace Antwan Lang in 2021. Murray ran unsuccessfully for the seat in 2018, losing to Lang. Murray previously served as chair of the Chatham County Democratic Committee.
Latricia "Trish" Brown: Democratic challenger Brown, a clothing and accessory designer at Trish B. Stylin' Design, will mount a run to challenge Murray. A political newcomer, she was formerly a staffing coordinator with SelecSource Staffing Services.
Republican Post 1
Marianne Heimes: Republican Incumbent Heimes also won her Board of Elections seat in 2014. At a Feb. 14 vote, the board put Heimes into the vice-chair position.
Robin Greco: Republican challenger Greco is perhaps best known for driving the Infinity QX80 covered in a Donald Trump themed vehicle wrap, featuring Trump's silhouette on the rear driver's side window. She worked as a nurse at the Georgia Institute of Plastic Surgery for 19 years, according to her LinkedIn page.
Jennifer Salandi: Republican Challenger Salandi was a follower of Savannah Freedom Exchange, a Trump-focused group that attempted to elect those from their ranks into the local Republican party following Trump's 2020 loss. Salandi ran for the 1st District Republican Party's 2nd vice-chair position in 2021, but lost.
Republican Post 2
James Hall: Republican Incumbent Hall was nominated by the Chatham Republican Party in 2020 to fill the BOE's vacant Republican seat. Hall said he looks to continue the work he's done so far.
Beverly Meng: Hall's first challenger will be from a fellow Republican, Beverly Meng. Meng is a political newcomer and retiree.
