We’ve discovered a problem with user logins that really concerns us. We are actively working urgently to fix it.
Users are reporting that when they are signed in to ajc.com and close their browser, they are automatically signed out. Some users have also been logged out when going to another site and coming back to ajc.com.
This problem is really being felt by the folks who comment on our blogs who are finding themselves having to sign in too often. This is not our intent at all, and we will be working with our digital team and our vendor for the user registration system to fix it as quickly as we can. We’ll keep you updated but rest assured we are working on it.
Our technical teams and their managers are giving this the highest attention and we will let you know when this has been fixed and will update you as needed until then.
If you have questions about this or need other help, please contact us at digitalproducts@ajc.com or call 404-522-4141 and choose Option 1.
We apologize profusely for the inconvenience.
UPDATE: Our tech team is closer to a fix, but I cannot promise a date yet because we want to make sure the fix is working and does not have unintended consequences. We are also making note of the other suggestions, including an option to display more than 20 comments. We appreciate your patience, good ideas and your help in making our site more useful to you.
