A Hungarian camerawoman has been fired after she was caught on camera kicking a fleeing migrant holding a child.
It was a chaotic scene as Syrian refugees tried to escape authorities in a field near the Hungarian village of Röszke. A photographer, who reportedly works for N1TV, was caught on camera tripping and kicking at the refugees running past her. A man carrying a child fell after she tripped him.
The woman has been identified by local media as Petra László, who reportedly works for a right-wing media outlet.
According to media reports, the photographer has been fired. The Guardian posted a statement from the station's website regarding the termination:
“The camerawoman’s employment has today been terminated with immediate effect. The case is now closed for us.”
