If you find it hard to choose between burgers and pizzas when you're hungry, Domino's has a solution for you: the appropriately (if not so creatively) named BurgerPizza.
The ambitious mashup was unveiled Wednesday by Domino's Pizza India with the tag line "Looks like a burger, tastes like a pizza."
The BurgerPizza is the chain's attempt to break into the "all day, individual consumption" market, according to a news release from the company. It's available at the more than 1,000 Domino's Pizza locations in India but, unfortunately for America burger and pizza lovers, it isn't available stateside.
"The BurgerPizza is different from conventional burgers in many ways," said S. Murugan Narayanswamy, senior vice president of marketing for Domino's Pizza India. "We aim to address the desire for a burger through a new kind of pizza.
The BurgerPizza is available in four different varieties: two vegetarian and two with meat. The burgers are baked and include herbs, vegetables, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, along with other toppings.
"Unlike other burgers, the BurgerPizza is comfort food, full of pizza goodness, and has been specifically designed for the Indian palette," said Dev Amritesh, president and chief business officer of Domino's Pizza India.
The burger-pizza hybrids cost an affordable 89 rupees – or $1.33.
