The wife of a Kentucky congressman died suddenly at their home Tuesday.
Eleanor Carol Leavell Barr, the wife of US Rep Andy Barr (R-Lexington), passed away at their home in Fayette County, Kentucky, according to Kentucky news station WKYT. The Fayette County coroner was called to the Barr family home in Lexington, according to the report.
Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers said his office would not share information about the cause of death, but the family is planning to release information.
"During this tragic time, we respectfully ask for privacy for Congressman Barr and his family to grieve Mrs. Barr being called home to heaven, "Mary Rosado, Barr's chief of staff, said in a statement. "Congressman Barr may release a more detailed statement at a later date, but right now is solely focused on being a father to his two beautiful daughters."
