If you’ve been waiting to hear the legendary line “Come on down,” you may not have to wait much longer.
A live version of one of America’s favorite shows, “Price is Right,” is headed to two Georgia theaters next spring.
Tickets for "Price is Right Live" in Columbus went on sale last month. It will take place at 7:30 p.m. April 23, at the Columbus Civic Center in Columbus, according to Ticketmaster. The show has just been announced for Albany as well. "The Price is Right Live" is slated for 7:30 p.m. April 22 at the Albany Civic Center. Tickets will go on sale Friday at the DOCO Credit Union Box Office located inside of the Albany Civic Center and online at Ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices start at $35. There will be an online only presale from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday.
The touring version of the show will include prizes, a celebrity host and many games from the popular televised classic game show.
Those looking to cash in on that money-making legacy in April should take note of these four things to know about becoming a contestant on the “Price is Right Live" in Georgia.
It doesn’t cost a penny to play, but you do have to buy tickets to be an audience member.
Though those in the audience have to buy tickets, contestants do not have to purchase tickets to play. Tickets will be available at 10 a.m. Friday. Tickets are listed at $99-150 plus applicable fees.
Arrive early for consideration.
The key is arriving to the Columbus Civic Center for the casting call on April 23, because producers will begin registering potential contestants early on the afternoon of the recording. Producers suggest potential guests show up as early as possible to be considered. Registration closes precisely at the scheduled showtime of 7:30 p.m.
Know the registration process.
After arriving, every eligible potential contestant, ages 18 or older, must provide their first and last name and day of birth (0-31) to producers via registration cards, which will be handed out by the venue’s staff. There is no ticket purchase required to register to be a contestant, and having a ticket will not be considered a factor in determining eligible contestants or in the contestant selection process.
You might not make it. Be prepared.
Only eight lucky contestants will get the chance to guess prices and win appliances, cash or even a shiny new car.
According to the "Price is Right Live" website, individuals who are not selected as contestants and do not have tickets must leave the venue after the end of the casting process. However, if you purchase tickets, you can still enjoy the show − even without the glory.
