ENTITLEMENTS

Romney doesn’t have to worry about me

I guess Mitt Romney never heard of the working poor — those who take care of his cars, houses, yards or clothes, or the teachers and staff who teach the rest of us. I guess he’s never met those who built his houses, laid the roads, and built and repaired the bridges — or those who care for us in hospital stays. I guess he’s never even thought about those who drive the buses and trains, or who drive tractor trailers that transport food and goods, or every man and woman in our military.

I’ve worked since I was 14 and I’m now “retired,” but still have to work. I stupidly tied up my 401(k) in conservative investments in the stock market, which has taken two hits in the last 12 years, and is not able to support me as I thought it would. To “take responsibility” for my mortgage and not lose my house, I still work and see no future retirement for me. So, Romney’s right: he doesn’t have to worry about me and my “entitlements,” because I am not supporting a party which does not recognize those of us who make this country run.

NEW FACILITY

Existing stadium is enough for Falcons

Atlanta does not need another stadium. How frequently is the current stadium sold out? Not very often.

Didn’t we just have an election to add a penny tax to help improve roads for traffic? It failed, but it was on the ballot. Well, if we can’t handle the traffic we have now, how do you expect to handle more traffic with a new, larger stadium?

I think it would be an atrocious expense for anyone residing in Fulton County (or the surrounding areas).

It’s too bad the politicians, Arthur Blank and the football players don’t think further ahead than the present. Blank is a multimillionaire and the football players are paid exorbitant salaries. What about the regular people who work all year, and don’t make anywhere near what the football players receive?

I think the present stadium is more than adequate for Falcon fans. The proposed stadium should be grounded.

What follows Arab Spring? Arab Fall

So, we help Libya and Egypt get rid of their dictators and give aid to the new guys running the places. As thanks, they kill our people, violate our sovereignty and wish the whole of the American people a very bad fate.

What comes after Arab Spring? Obviously, it is Arab Fall.

After the way Iraq turned out, it should have been obvious that democracy-building in countries whose religion is intrinsically incompatible with democracy is the foreign policy of amateurs and fools.

The citizens of the U.S. should do some democracy building (or repair) in November.
