Muslim countries should open arms
Day after day the news broadcasts show the multitude of Muslims fleeing their countries, trying to reach predominantly Christian countries in Europe. Several of the European countries, particularly Germany, have indicated a willingness to allow these refugees to settle. Why are we not seeing other Muslim countries, particularly those with substantial oil revenue, willing to accept these refugees of the same faith? Is there no compassion in their teachings?

Fire Kentucky clerk
I think it is very unfortunate that they put Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who refuses to issue marriage licenses to gays on religious grounds, in jail. That is because she does not deserve to made a martyr. She should have just been fired. In the private sector, if you refuse to perform your job responsibilities, you get fired. If Davis does not want to perform her job, she should quit and find a job that does not trouble her conscience, not burden the taxpayers. It is also ridiculous that it is easier to put public employees in jail for refusing to do their job than it is to fire them.

Religious liberty bill upholds personal convictions
Big corporations and liberals just don’t get it that religious people sincerely desire a religious liberty bill to ensure that they do not have to violate their convictions and provide weddings to gay couples. Let me help you here: imagine The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s talented satirist, Mike Luckovich, being forced to draw Republican-friendly cartoons for the rest of his left-leaning life. That’s just not gonna happen!

All lives matter
No doubt our courageous president doesn’t want to get politically involved in the Houston officer’s shooting death and for good reason — only black lives matter and that’s the way it should be. Only blacks have suffered great oppression in the history of this country and even in the entire history of the earth. Our country must acknowledge how special blacks are and thus give blacks a special name (perhaps African-Americans) so we all know just how much more special they are compared to just your standard Americans. No doubt this special treatment of blacks will greatly diffuse racial tension among us all, even among just regular, non-special Americans.

Iran deal, nuclear non-proliferation
Colin Powell announced his support for the Iran nuclear agreement on “Meet the Press.” I was surprised and disappointed the AJC did not cover this story. Nor did it cover the endorsement of the agreement by U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who, as an avid supporter of Israel’s security, said this was the most difficult decision in her 23 years of public service. Thank you Powell and Schultz.
