Unfiltered immigration may cost lives

One doesn’t have to look at the Paris attack to understand that this is going to happen in Germany and other European countries soon because of unfiltered immigration. Islam is not a religion of peace and it really doesn’t matter what CAIR or other Muslim groups say. The Obama administration wants Syrians refugees to come into the U.S.A . Does this sound like a good idea to anyone? They are on record as saying there is no way to check all these people for their ties to terrorist groups. There is a war going on in the world and, guess what, Islam is associated with every conflict that is happening. It is okay to criticize Islam and not be labeled as suffering from Islamophobia.

Terrorism question still unanswered

On the afternoon of Sept. 11, 2001 I wrote a letter to the editor of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution asking why we are hated so much by radical Muslims. I’m still waiting for an answer. Since then, I’ve read or heard many thousands of words, but none of them address the central, core question: Why do they hate us so much? Until we get an answer to that question, the terrorism and slaughter will continue. And don’t think it won’t come again to the U.S.A. It’s just a matter of when. Neither they nor we are The Great Satan. We are exactly the same frail human beings they are, with identical needs and aspirations, and we, like they, are manipulated by powerful interest groups through censorship, misinformation and lies to do their bidding. I know an American who is so thoroughly conditioned that they want all Muslims exterminated. This conditioning has inured us to the “new normals” coming at us at increasing speed. Mass murders are becoming standard infotainment “news” in the United States. To what extent are our major newspapers complicit in this slide into anarchy and moral rot? Each of them should study its face in a mirror.

Cartoonist wrong on refugees

Thursday’s Mike Luckovich cartoon depicting the tragic death of a small Syrian boy shouldn’t have been printed in your paper. It was both mean and beneath the dignity of the AJC. But let me see if I have the meaning and intent of the cartoonist correct: A small boy, whose parents were trying to enter Europe illegally, drowns. Therefore Europe and America should admit hundreds of thousands of undocumented Muslims who cannot be accurately vetted. Do I correctly understand the thinking of the cartoonist?

Flesh out bios of letter writers

The letters portion of the AJC Opinion section is entitled “Reader’s Write,” which gives the impression that contributors are local readers or government leaders who might provide some perspective on issues. Once again, the page features James Rust, the climate denier from the petroleum industry-funded Heartland Institute, who bemoans the blocking of the Keystone XL pipeline. Rust presents tired straw men about how the country will suffer from the lack of KXL when the risks and burdens far outweighed the benefits (climate effects aside). As ombudsman, you owe it to your readers to at least include a disclaimer when an industry shill is peddling disinformation. It’s renewal time for our AJC subscription and I am asking you to do a better job on the editorial page.

Hillary’s brainwashing paying off

Hillary Clinton’s mantra, “What difference does it make?”, is obviously trickling down to her followers. How can those supporters continue to ignore her poor performance as Secretary of State; her no action at Benghazi and the subsequent lies; her e-mails and the ongoing FBI investigation? That question, “What difference does it make?,” when applied to any of the above makes her candidacy a sham!
