U.S. should follow Australia’s lead on guns
Once again, an American has used a rapid-firing assault rifle to kill a lot of people in a short period of time. That is what assault rifles are designed to do. There is no logical reason Americans are allowed to possess assault rifles. Possession of assault rifles should be prohibited. Unfortunately, the National Rifle Association has cast assault rifles as being necessary to prevent a government takeover of America. This is a treasonous NRA narrative. There has never been an attempt at a government takeover of America. In the ’90s, Australia experienced a spate of gun massacres. Australia greatly toughened their gun laws, including buying back assault rifles. There have been no more gun massacres in Australia and the rate of gun violence has been cut in half. America needs to follow the lead of Australia. It is time to ban assault rifles and bump stocks like the kind used in the Las Vegas massacre.

Kneeling protest disrespectful, maybe seditious
Things in our country are far from perfect, we are not perfect, the human race is not perfect and God knows our politicians are not perfect. There is much that can be, and perhaps should be, criticized, even protested in our country but the fact remains that there is no other country in the world as free and as prosperous as the U.S. To use a ceremony honoring the very country that nurtures, supports and protects us, and the men and women who have given their lives defending us as a vehicle of protest is at the very least disrespectful and at most bordering on sedition. I will not watch a professional football game nor support the sport in any way until this despicable practice ceases.
