Justice-seeking liberals should probe Clintons

I never knew that “just friends” couldn’t have business ties without becoming suspects of something inappropriate: However, “experts” are suggesting Donald Trump Jr. is guilty of something nefarious. Since liberals are not having success with blaming our president with Russian collusion, it appears they are going to start demeaning other members of the first family. If liberals are so concerned about purity in government affairs, they should insist that Robert Mueller investigate the Clinton Foundation.

Creating new cities in Georgia certainly seems popular with the General Assembly. Bills to establish city charters and referendums for Sharon Springs and Eagles Landing in Forsyth and Henry counties, respectively, passed with large majorities. The General Assembly focused on soft issues such as “government closer to the people” and “identity” rather than real benefits. They gave greater weight to the process of legislation than to the results of legislation. Debate on the Sharon Springs bill was minimal, notwithstanding the study committee commissioned by Rep. Todd Jones (R-Cumming). The bill was passed without review of the Georgia State University study, which suggested tax increases and loss of services could result. The rationale given for proceeding with the legislation was to give the people the right to vote on incorporation, a right denied to residents of both counties and the city of Stockbridge outside the proposed cities’ boundaries. This disenfranchising of voters seems unfair, if not unethical, given that higher taxes and reduced services affect everyone. We should require our legislators to establish real benefits for establishing cities. A feasibility study including cost/benefit analysis might preclude forming these new cities out of thin air and soft issues.
