Senate GOP lets down voters
It is disgusting but should not be surprising that the Senate GOP has dropped plans to “defund Obamacare” as published in the June 8 edition of the AJC.
After using this promotion for fundraising purposes to help elect Republicans to higher office, the establishment Republicans show their appreciation for their voters support by rolling over like a lap dog and letting the opposition have their legacy legislation on a silver platter. The Republican establishment has become Democrat “lite,” but it should be noted that it has been for quite a long time.
Only the tea party conservatives have tried to keep the Republican establishment in check but it appears to be too little, too late. Their only hope is to keep trying to hijack the party from the elite establishment. The vast majority of politicians on both sides in Washington seem to be there only to enjoy their power and privilege, pad their pockets and not to have any interest for the voters that stupidly put them there.

What would Trump do?
In October of 1962, nuclear-armed B-52s sat in plain sight on civilian airport ramps all over the U.S. Our warplanes had been dispersed as an emergency measure to protect them from strikes by the Soviet Union. With Soviet missiles in Cuba, and enough weapons in the hands of both countries to wipe out most of the populations and leave the lands uninhabitable, we teetered on the brink.
Fortunately, President John F. Kennedy kept his cool, and maintained pressure on the USSR without pushing them into a corner, and brought us through it. What if Donald Trump had been president?
