The Georgia General Assembly is deep in discussions about adding transportation revenue through new taxes. Even Republicans seem to agree something must be done to raise more than $1.5 billion annually to pay for the upkeep of our aging infrastructure. But the idea of new taxes still rankles some fiscal conservatives, such as today’s lead columnist.
