A Mississippi sandwich shop worker has been fired for celebrating the deaths of two police officers who were gunned down over the weekend in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Sierra McCurdy posted the following on social media:
"2 police officers was shot in Hattiesburg tonight. Got em."
WREG-TV captured the post and shared it on Facebook:
A Jackson newspaper reports the woman used emoji's showing a gun and laughing faces. In one of the posts, the woman was wearing a Subway sandwich shop uniform.
Subway says, "This kind of behavior is unacceptable and does not represent the values and ethics of our brand."
Police say 34-year-old officer Benjamin Deen pulled over a vehicle for speeding and then called for back-up. When fellow officer, 25-year-old Liquori Tate arrived they went up to the car. That's when someone from inside began shooting killing both officers.
A memorial service is planned for the two officers Monday.
