A 33-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday after an officer from the Jacksonville, Florida, Sheriff’s Office saw her smoking meth in her car while holding a baby in her lap, authorities said.
The incident was reported in the parking lot of a Social Security office in Jacksonville.
JSO was called to the parking lot after receiving a complaint. The responding officer said Jill Waffle, was sitting in the car, holding a small pipe with smoke coming from it and a 1-year-old girl in her lap.
Waffle was asked if she was smoking crack, and she said “no,” according to the report. Asked if she was smoking meth, she began to cry and said, “Yes.” After she was placed in a patrol car, she told police that there were drugs located in her purse, on the front seat and on the floor of the car.
JSO said officers found meth in the car. The report said Waffle admitted smoking the meth while her boyfriend was in the Social Security office, and said she was a drug addict who had “fallen off the wagon.”
When the officer checked Waffle’s driver's license, he found that it had been suspended.
Waffle was charged with drug possession with intent to purchase, child abuse, DUI while accompanied by a minor and driving on a suspended license.
