In a painful turn of events, a hammer throw attempt ended up hitting an official in the crotch.
According to London's Daily Mail, the incident, which was caught on video and shared by New Zealand Olympic champion Valerie Adams, shows an unnamed woman releasing the hammer too soon during a training session, resulting in a painful moment for the unsuspecting official standing nearby.
The 8.82-pound hammer left the hammer thrower’s hand at a high speed and collided with the helpless official’s crotch.
The impact caused the official to double over in pain.
