People use passwords for phones, computers, tablets and other gadgets to keep their information private and secure.

Credit card numbers, social security numbers, phone numbers and personal photos are among the many items digital users hope to keep safe.

But what if the passwords employed to protect that material aren't strong?

SplashData, a password management firm, recently compiled a list of the most insecure passwords of 2015. The list was generated from more than 2 million leaked passwords during the year.
