What to know now:
1. Mourning Prince: The world was stunned Thursday when we learned that pop icon Prince died at his Minneapolis home. The multi-talented musician who blended rock, with funk, R & B and soul sold more than 100 million records, won 7 Grammys, a Golden Globe and an Academy Award. Tributes to the artist who once took on the name of a symbol nearly no one could pronounce, came from around the globe. Prince was a much too young 57 when he died.
2. A new Trump: For those of you tired of the old one, the people in charge of Donald Trump's campaign are promising a "new" candidate as summer approaches. The Associated Press obtained a copy of a private briefing to the Republican National Committee by " Paul Manafort, who is leading Trump's primary election strategy. "When he's out on the stage, when he's talking about the kinds of things he's talking about on the stump, he's projecting an image that's for that purpose. You'll start to see more depth of the person, the real person," Manafort promises in the briefing.
3. Store closings: Sears and Kmart, onetime retail giants, will be closing 78 stores over the summer in hopes of keeping the doors open on the rest of their holdings. Sixty-eight Kmarts and 10 Sears are set to be closed by late July. Two Kmart stores will close in mid-September. Click here to see a list of the stores being shuttered.
4. Teen killed at school: A 16-year-old girl died Thursday after fighting with other girls in a Delaware high school bathroom, according to authorities. Amy Inita Joyner-Francis died after she and several girls had an altercation just after school started at Howard High School of Technology in Wilmington, Delaware. No charges have been filed yet, according to Wilmington police.
5. A farewell tour: President Barack Obama has a date with the Queen of England Friday on the first leg of a trip that will eventually take him to the Middle East. He will meet with Britain's prime minster David Cameron early in the day, then he and first lady Michelle Obama will dine with the Queen who turned 90 on Thursday.

FBI head James Comey said his agency paid more than $1 million to the company that was able to hack into the iPhone of San Bernardino terrorist Syed Farook. Comey, who was speaking at the Aspen Security Forum in London, was asked how much the government paid to gain access to the contents of the phone. "A lot. Let's see, more than I will make in the remainder of this job, which is seven years and four months, for sure." The FBI director's annual salary is $181,500.
