What to know now:

1. Brussels on alert: The Belgium capital remains on high alert Monday as authorities take seriously threats of a Paris-style terror attack. The city if virtually shut down as schools, the metro and shops and restaurants have been shuttered. Citizens are being encouraged to stay in their homes after the country's prime minister says a credible imminent threat has been uncovered. Sixteen people were detained during raids throughout the city early Monday.

2. Amanda Blackburn: An 18-year-old has been arrested in the death of Amanda Blackburn, who was shot  and killed  in what police say they believe was a home invasion. Larry Taylor was arrested Sunday and will be charged in the Nov. 10 shooting of the 12-week pregnant woman whose toddler was in  the home at the time of the attack.

3. New Orleans shootout: Sixteen people were shot in New Orleans Sunday after a gun battle erupted during the filming of a music video. According to police, hundreds of people were gathered at a playground for a block party and music video shoot  when two groups in the crowd began shooting at each other.

4. AMA winners: Taylor Swift won multiple awards Sunday night at the American Music Awards ceremony, including Song of the Year for "Blank Space." The band One Direction won for Artist  of the Year, while Nicki Minaj and The Weeknd were also big winners. The night was an emotional one as many of the artists both presenting  and receiving awards reference the terror attacks in Paris.  Click here to see a complete list  of the winners.

5. Jersey City hits back: The mayor of Jersey City, N.J., is challenging Donald Trump's claim that he saw reports of Muslims cheering in the streets of his city following the attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001. "Trump is plain wrong, and he is shamefully politicizing an emotionally charged issue," Jersey City mayor Steven Fulop said. "No one in Jersey City cheered on September 11th. We were actually among the first to provide responders to help in lower Manhattan."

 Don't read this if you haven't seen the latest episode of "Doctor Who." Jenna Coleman's final episode of the show saw her character Clara Oswald die Saturday, and social media is not one bit ok with that. Clara sacrificed herself  so that graffiti artist Rigsy may live. As soon as the episode ended, an outpouring of grief for the selfless sidekick to the Doctor hit Twitter and Facebook. RIP Clara.
