A magical treat for sky watchers is on its way.
On Sunday night, a total supermoon lunar eclipse, also known as a blood moon, will happen.

Here are 10 things you should know, based on a recent USA Today report:
1. After Sunday, the next supermoon eclipse will occur in 2033.
2. The last supermoon eclipse was in 1982.
3. To get the best view of the eclipse, avoid areas with light pollution.
4. The moon will appear coppery red instead of completely dark.
5. The show begins after dark Sunday with a partial eclipse, with the total phase starting at 10:11 p.m. ET.
6. The moon will be totally out of Earth’s shadow by early Monday.
7. Unlike a solar eclipse, you can look directly at a lunar eclipse.
8. When photographing, you should use a slow shutter speed – 1/15th or 1/8th of a second.
9. When photographing, have an object, such as a building or tree, in the foreground.
10. Shoot as many photos as you can and ENJOY!
