Houston High School student Allie Allen is fighting her second onset of cancer.

But the illness didn't stop her from attending a homecoming dance with Collierville senior Brayden Carpenter last Saturday. The two have known each other since sixth grade.

When Brayden showed up, he had a big surprise for Allie. He had shaved his head because he wanted to make her feel more comfortable.

School officials said it was an incredible gesture for a wonderful young woman.

Allie was the junior homecoming princess for Houston. She is an avid fan of the football team and despite her treatments at St. Jude she does not miss the games.

Each game, she sits on the sideline in her pom uniform. Last week, she even gave a pep talk from her hospital bed to the team as the players prepared for a big game.

As if things weren’t tough enough, Allie isn’t the only one in her family fighting cancer. Her mom, Debbi, has breast cancer.

Allie's dad is a FedEx pilot, but he's had to miss flights so that he can stay home and help his family. They've set up a GoFundMe site titled "Fighting with the Allens."
