Susan Sarandon probably didn't think the Democratic National Convention was going to unfold the way it has thus far.

Sarandon, 69, is an ardent Bernie Sanders supporter who said that "in a way," Hillary Clinton is "more dangerous" than Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

"Her record -- I mean, she did not learn a thing from Iraq. She is an interventionist. She's done horrible things, horrible things, and very callously," Sarandon said.

Clinton clinched the Democratic nomination for president on Tuesday, but Sarandon appeared to feel defeated before that.

Sanders took the stage to endorse Clinton despite an email leak that showed efforts among some party leaders to sabotage his campaign for the nomination.

"Susan Sarandon is literally having the worst time ever," journalist Ian McKenna tweeted with a GIF of Sarandon shaking her head among a clapping crowd.

"Accurate," Sarandon said in a retweet just minutes later.

Despite her beliefs about Clinton, Sarandon has said she would "never support Trump for any reason."

Sarandon has previously poked fun at Trump, saying: "He reminds me of a drunk uncle at a wedding who gets up and starts talking and just loves the crowd and just goes on and on and on and says whatever he can to get a reaction ... I can't even address him seriously."
