The heat wave hitting the East Coast has nothing on Wyoming when it comes to strange July weather.
A cold front moved through the state earlier this week, dumping rain on areas below 9,000 feet, but it was the area over 9,000 feet that had at most an accumulation of an inch of snow, The Lexington Herald-Leader reported.
Most of the snow melted Monday, with a little sticking around until Tuesday.
Officials at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort said a July snow isn't totally unheard of, but hasn't happened in several years.
Skiers took to the resort's Facebook post to share their excitement.
