When a storm is coming, all of the milk, bread and eggs are going ... off of store shelves that is.
But in Virginia, one other apparent staple is in short supply.
Alcohol.
ABC, or liquor, stores in some part of the state are being emptied of what some people think they need to weather the storm, WTVR reported.
One woman purchased six mini bottles of pineapple-flavored liquor, while another bought some Irish whiskey to give his coffee a little kick over the next few days.
"Just in case I get stuck inside, I wanted something to do while I'm being productive cleaning and catching up on Netflix," John Pineda said.
Washington, D.C. and the surrounding area in Virginia and Maryland are in the bull’s-eye of the impending winter storm.
The area could get as much as 30 inches of snow starting Friday and through the weekend, WRC reported.
Originally meteorologists predicted that the region was going to get 18 to 24 inches, but it could now be between 20 and 30 inches, WRC reported Friday morning.
It could be the highest amount of snowfall in D.C. history.
