A Houston neighborhood had an unexpected addition to its water and now the people who are living there want to know what happened.
The addition is worms, KHOU reported.
Tiny worms are clogging sprinklers and flowing out of faucets with the subdivision's tap water.
Residents told KHOU it has been happening the past few days and the water company said it found no sign of worms in its system.
J&S Water had a power outage over the weekend and had to flush the system, but the company claims it has not found worms in the equipment, so officials said the slithery creatures are from another source, such as pipes in the neighborhood.
The mayor, KHOU reported, offered free bottled water and showers at a city facility, and environmental officials from the state won't be able to come to the community until Friday to try to find the source of the problem.
