Three schools in Texas and two in Ohio are closed Thursday after it was discovered that students there were on a flight with the nurse who was recently diagnosed with Ebola.

According to the Associated Press, Belton Independent School District closed a middle school, an elementary school and an early childhood school Wednesday night.  The move is so the schools and some buses can be thoroughly disinfected.

Students' parents are also keeping the children home for 21 days voluntarily, according to the Associated Press report.

In Solon, Ohio, a middle and elementary school are also closed Thursday.  According to WKYC, parents received a school email saying a Solon Middle School staff member may have been on the same plane, but not same filght as Amber Vinson, the Dallas nurse.

Both schools are closed to be disinfected.  Buses were also sanitized, WJW reported.

In the email to parents, Solon School District officials said that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials said that the staff member is not at risk of Ebola since she did not have direct contact with the nurse and that they belive there is no risk to students and staff, but decided to close the two buildings out of "an abundance of caution."  The staff member will not be at work during the self-monitoring period,  WJW reported.
