Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel had sharp words for a reporter to he said "outed" his Cuban holiday vacation plans with his wife and family.
During an onstage event Wednesday with Politico's chief political reporter, Michael Allen, Emanuel chastised Allen for asking about his vacation plans which were revealed to the reporter backstage before the event.
Allen offered an apology for revealing information that he said he didn't know was confidential.
Emanuel rejected the apology, saying "It's not going to work."
The video can be seen here.
Emanuel is under fire for his city's handling of the shooting death of black teenager Laquan McDonald by a white Chicago police officer. The city has already paid $5 million to the family of the teen.
Emanuel fired his top cop after video of the incident was kept secret for more than a year. Many protesters are calling for Emanuel's departure.
"No," he said, during one of several testy exchanges through the course of a nearly hour-long discussion with Politico's Mike Allen and Politico Illinois' Natasha Korecki. "Because I really so much looked forward to this interview and I wanted to have it. I just felt so good saying that to you. We have a process called the election. The voters spoke. I'll be held accountable for the decisions and actions that I make." (Politico)
