A woman is in the Montgomery County Jail on multiple charges after police said she jumped out of an ambulance and onto an RTA bus to avoid arrest.

Miranda N. Moore, 24, is charged with disrupting public service, making false alarms, obstructing official business, possessing drug abuse instruments, child endangering, driving under suspension and other traffic violations, according to police.

Dayton police initiated a traffic stop at 4:25 p.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of Arlene Avenue after a 1993 Buick Century failed to stop at two stop signs on Genesee and Arlene Avenues.

The officer made contact with the driver, Miranda N. Moore, whose one-month-old boy was in a car seat in the back seat.

The officer determined that Moore did not have a valid driver’s license and also had an outstanding warrant for driving under suspension.

Moore was advised that she needed to call someone to pick up the child. Moore told the officer she was pregnant and was a recovering heroin addict, according to the police report. Moore said she was going into withdrawal and needed to be taken to the hospital.

After arriving to Good Samaritan Hospital, Moore jumped out of the ambulance whil it was parked in the ambulance bay, then grabbed child's car seat, and ran onto an RTA bus, police said. Officers stopped the bus and t Moore got out and tried to flee, police said.

Moore has an open case with children’s services and does not have custody of the child, authorities said.
